Emergent announced that Quint Van Deman, Director of Open Source, will head the new Cloud Solutions practice within Emergent Consulting. In this role, Van Deman will be responsible for designing Open Source and Cloud based solutions for customers and being an advocate for Open Source and Cloud computing in the enterprise. He is a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Engineer (RHCE), Data Center Specialist (RHCDS), and the Red Hat Certified Professional of the Year for 2011.

Emergent established its Cloud computing consulting practice in 2011. Emergent team works with organizations to capitalize on cost savings and increased agility offered by the Cloud, without sacrificing security, interoperability or governance.

President of Emergent Consulting, Richard Walters said, “Since much of the Cloud is based on Open Source technologies and with Quint’s award winning expertise as a proven Open Source architect, this is a natural move for us.  Our new Cloud practice will further help our clients achieve cost-effective solutions and innovation. The Cloud is one of the most exciting technology developments in years and we look forward to helping clients realize its potential.”
