Dovèl Technologies announced its acquisition of ZapThink LLC this morning as part of its strategy to expand its scope, capabilities and though leadership in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), cloud computing and other similar technologies. Dovèl is a leading provider of high-end software and application development for its government clients.
By using SOA, Dovèl creates a low-impact approach to various processes, communication and storage of mission critical data. Dovèl has helped numerous federal clients including the Department of Defense, the Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Education. The company has been appraised at CMMI level three.
“Our customers are looking for direction on the realities and use of SOA to make it possible to reach the Cloud,” said Paul Leslie, CEO of Dovèl. ”With the ZapThink team, we can now offer vendor-agnostic advice, SOA training and certification, as well as the means to develop an enterprise approach to address today’s critical challenges with a roadmap to the Cloud.”
ZapThink, an information technology strategy advisory firm, is a recognized author and master of SOA and Enterprise Architecture. With an audience of over 20,000 senior IT executives, enterprise architects and other IT practitioners, ZapThink had built a brand around its SOA and cloud computing expertise. ZapThink provides training and certification on SOA & cloud computing through its main offering – The Licensed ZapThink Architect (LZA) Course. The company has certified over 1400 individuals and will continue to offer its LZA Course through Dovèl as its subsidiary.
“By joining with Dovèl Technologies, we will be able to draw on the expert resources within the company and their real-world experience in implementing Cloud and SOA in federal systems,” said Ronald Schmelzer, Managing Partner of ZapThink. “This expanded pool of talent and experience will enrich the training experience and allow us to create more customized courses to further educate the market on the realities of SOA and Cloud.”
Jason Bloomberg will continue as President of the ZapThink subsidiary of Dovèl Technologies.
“Joining with Dovèl gives us a fantastic opportunity to expand the reach and impact of our training and original content by tapping into the people and experiences throughout the company,” said Bloomberg, Managing Partner of ZapThink.
