The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy officially launched the website, Energy.Data.Gov, on Thursday.  The site is the newest installment of the Data.gov communities which help publicize the interest of the nation’s energy performance.

This program combines tools, datasets and applications to help others understand energy use.  The website also uses 216 free datasets and tools gathered from agencies across the Federal government.  A main goal of this website is to help all Americans better comprehend the issues of energy and how to manage it more efficiently.

By the end of the year data on Federal building energy usage, outlooks on energy improvements and Federal government depletion and costs dated back to 1975 will be showcased.
