Charles Church is a leader in all aspects. Having years of experience in the military, federal government, government contracting and high tech market places, Church is the current vice president at Sevatec, Inc. headquartered in Falls Church, Va. The company, as well as Church’s mission, is to provide leading strategic management and technology solutions to federal clients.
Church graduated from the United States Naval Academy and spent 15 years as a nuclear submariner during the Cold War. He retired early to head-start his career at high technology companies, including AOL, Powersim, UUNET and OneSoft.
Besides his heavy involvement in the field of technology, another passion of Church’s is to go beyond traditional “networking” and build his career around “connecting.” “I always believe that organizations like government or company jobs will always come and go in your career, but that the people you meet in this journey are most important,” said Church. “So I invest a lot of my personal time in my personal networks.”
He believes using social media and online professional relationships are good ways to become a trusted advisor and to adapt with business challenges. He also advises that using LinkedIn and Facebook are effective ways to create virtual relationships that leads to business partners. However, Church also recommends LinkedIn for professional matters, leaving your personal affairs to Facebook.
Church appeared on an NBC show in January called, “Breached: A Cyberattack in America,” which discussed the field of cybersecurity and how to avoid a personal cyberattack. Church is always looking to connect with others while building recognition for Sevatec, Inc.
