ManTech Named One of 2011’s “Most Valuable Employers for the Military” By CivilianJobs.com

CivilianJobs.com recognized ManTech International Wednesday as one of the United States’ “Most Valuable Employers for Military,” highlighting the company’s track record hiring and retaining veterans.

All U.S.-based companies were eligible for the award, determining factors were employers recruitment, training, and retention plans for military service members and veterans.

Based on surveys completed by interested companies, CivilianJobs.com awarded 35 companies the title “Most Valuable Employer for Military” for 2011.

Owned by Bradley-Morris, Inc., CivilianJobs.com specializes in connecting military service members and veterans with jobs in the civilian workforce. Other Most Valuable Employer winners this year included Amazon.com, Sprint, Verizon, and the Navy Federal Credit Union.

“Over my 20 years in the military recruiting industry, I have been encouraged when any company improves their talent pool by hiring veterans. But the MVE winners are a cut above,” said Sandra Morris, Bradley-Morris, Inc.’s CEO. “These employers, both large and small, demonstrate an understanding of and a dedication to our military service members, and I am thankful that we are able to shine a spotlight on their efforts.”

This is not ManTech’s first accolade for 2011.  The Fairfax-based provider of “innovative technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programs for the intelligence community” was named No. 2 best company in the nation for veterans by G.I. Jobs magazine earlier this year.

“We are privileged to do a lot of work for our armed forces,” said George J. Pedersen, ManTech’s Chairman and CEO. “We support them from a distance and serve with them side by side.”

Pederson added that veterans don’t just boost ManTech’s ratings in places like CivilianJobs.com or G.I. Jobs. They help boost ManTech’s performance overall.

“Certainly, veterans bring a lot to ManTech because of their experience and familiarity with the military’s missions,” Pederson said. “They also bring self-discipline, a strong work ethic, a dedication to the mission faithfully, and a commitment to integrity. We are proud to be able to offer career opportunities to veterans. I can say without hesitation that the professional experience and technical skills of these men and women are greatly valued by ManTech.”
