Northern Virginia Chamber Presents 2016 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards

The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, formerly the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, announced June 21 the finalists and winners for the 2016 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards, presented at the organization’s Annual Chairman’s Luncheon at The Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner.

“We’re proud to honor these companies, non-profits and individuals, which embody the strong commitment to community common throughout Northern Virginia businesses,” Northern Virginia Chamber President and CEO Jim Corcoran said. “Through their leadership and corporate social responsibility efforts, they make meaningful contributions to the well-being of our community.”

Presented across seven categories, the awards honor extraordinary business leadership and above-and-beyond corporate social responsibility (CSR). The nominations period took place from January to March 2016. This year, the Northern Virginia Chamber received a record number of applications which were all reviewed by an independent selection committee. From the selected pool of nominees, judges chose finalists and winners who were announced live at the event.

The Lifetime Achievement Awards, selected by past Chamber chairs for lifelong dedication and service to the Northern Virginia business community, were presented to Richard Duvall, Senior Partner, Holland & Knight, and Knox Singleton, CEO, Inova Health System.

The NOVAForward Award, which recognizes exceptional work to move Northern Virginia businesses and the community forward, was presented to Mary Agee, Former President and Chief Executive, Northern Virginia Family Service.

Outgoing Northern Virginia Chamber Chairman Mitch Weintraub, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Cordia Partners, presented awards for exemplary service to the Chamber over the past year. Recipients of this year’s Chairman Awards included:

Jennifer Aument, Group General Manager, North America, Transurban, was welcomed as the 2016-2017 Northern Virginia Chamber Chairman.
