One in nine adults suffer from chronic kidney disease and one in three are at risk — and it’s the mission of the National Kidney Foundation to spread awareness and defeat every type of kidney disease.

The Kidney Masquerade Ball is the foundation’s largest black-tie affair with all proceed supporting research, patient services, and education to fight kidney disease. This year’s ball chair is Paul Smith, Red Hat’s senior vice president and general manager, public sector, North America.

The gala will feature medical and government leaders well as multiple different silent auctions. There will be live music by the Temptations, a lively cocktail reception and seated catered dinner. This year’s honorees include:

  • Doug Kammerer, chief meteorologist, NBC4, for the Community Service Award
  • SAP NS2 for the Corporate Citizenship Award
  • GW Transplant Institute/Ron & Joy Paul Kidney Center for the Community Partnership Award

In previous years, the Kidney Ball raised over $700,000, an amount this year’s event is looking to top.

The Annual Masquerade Kidney Ball will be held Nov. 23 at the Washington Hilton Hotel. For more information click here.
