On June 21 Sevatec Inc. Founder and Chairman Sonny Kakar received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year® 2016 Award in the Government Services category for the Mid-Atlantic region.
“It is such an honor to be chosen as a winner and to be in the company of such an exceptional group of entrepreneurs and leaders,” Kakar said. “I credit this recognition to the wonderful leaders across our firm who demonstrate every day what being a servant leader is all about. I thank my family for the loving support they provide me and to my faith for giving me the strength and discipline to work through challenges with integrity and honesty.”
The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Kakar was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a black-tie gala at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner on June 15.
Sevatec was founded in 2003.
As a Mid-Atlantic Region award winner, Kakar is now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur of the Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif., on Nov. 19. The U.S. Entrepreneur of the Year Overall Award winner then moves on to compete for the World Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Monaco in June 2017.
