Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company based in Arlington, Va., announced that it has released version 6.1 of its Human Services Software Suite. The new version improves the program’s capabilities to support agencies at the state level in modernizing eligibility systems, integration across programs and federal government compliance requirements, including the Affordable Care Act.

“This software suite fills a technology gap in the market, helping government agencies address their most pressing needs and achieve compliance at speed,” said David McCurley, global managing director of Accenture’s public sector software business. “The broad capabilities of our software are helping states move forward with integration of health and human services and become better prepared for the future with technology that provides greater flexibility and interoperability.”

Version 6.1 features enhancements to the online applications for Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It also updates the portal for hospital workers and enhances “no-touch processing” functionality, the ability to process benefits applications without case worker involvement. New features include increased use of dynamic questions in the application process and provide citizens with greater flexibility to apply for multiple programs for each individual in a household. Built-in interfaces to the federal data services hub enable real-time eligibility determination.

The software can be deployed to fully replace agency legacy systems, or agencies can select individual components to upgrade their functionality through phases.

In July, the  U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company, a three-year, $162 million contract to support the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Clinical Application and Enterprise Core Services.
