McLean, Va.-based Dovel Technologies is slated to develop an electronic filing system for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under a five year IDIQ task order through the agency’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), the company announced at the end of last month.

The software application development and IT solutions firm in May acquired RNSolutions — a move which solidified its presence in the federal health IT market.

The SEC contract positions Dovel to leverage its Oracle suite to complete the Electronic Filing for Administrative Proceedings (eFAP) order.

eFAP would let internal and external parties file documents electronically, would also permit staff of the Office of the Secretary to electronically docket and serve orders and notices and allow Administrative Law Judge to obtain data from staff, respondents and Self-Regulatory Organizations, Dovel wrote in a press statement.

Dovel Chief Executive Paul Leslie said the company looks forward to completing its first task order under the newly awarded “DIOMDS IDIQ.” “We look forward to building a system that meets the needs of a varied set of users and can be fielded both quickly and effectively,” Leslie said.
