Serco, Inc., a Reston-based technology and management services firm, announced earlier this month it will perform work under a Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific contract valued at $46 million for the group’s Security Systems Branch.

The company will work with Defense Department agencies to provide life cycle sustainment, integration, acquisition and technical support to protect against terrorism and force within Naval Electronic Surveillance Systems, according to a Serco press statement.

Serco will be among three companies competing for task orders under the three-year, multiple award contract vehicle.

“We are known for the quality of our networks and communications solutions and are eager to again put that experience to work for the Navy and our Warfighters,” said Serco Chief Executive Officer Dan Allen, also a company chairman.

The company will “support systems that provide the capability to receive/transmit orders, receive and process information into situational awareness displays, support command decision processes and communicate electronic data to multi-service, multi-agency nodes across the entire all-hazards/all-threats spectrum of Ashore and Afloat operations,” according to the press statement.

The company employs approximately 10,000 employees and brings in an annual revenue of about $1.2 billion.

The company last month announced the appointment of a new senior vice president of Corporate Development. Read about Al Pisani’s role at Serco here.
