Jody Tedesco has been named the leader of Information Technology Services & Solutions (ITSS) strategic business unit at the Chenega Corporation, according to the company. ITSS is one of five business divisions representing the core capabilities of the corporation, based in Anchorage, Ala.
The newly created strategic business unit oversees two Chenega subsidiaries: NJVC®, LLC, and Chenega Decision Sciences (CDS), LLC — a new company pursuing SBA 8(a) certification that will offer a full range of information technology services to defense and federal civilian government customers.
“The Chenega Corporation board of directors and executive management team are confident this realignment is the right step at the right time to continue to position Chenega as a highly competitive, nimble corporation that is adaptable to the dynamics of the federal government services contracting marketplace,” said Charles W. Totemoff, Chenega’s president and chief executive officer. “Chenega congratulates Jody Tedesco and the entire team on their innovative and bold vision to expand into new and developing technology markets, and thanks all employees for their continued dedication to service excellence.”
As ITSS strategic business unit’s president, Tedesco reports directly to Jeff Hueners, the Chenega Corporation’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. Tedesco has been NJVC’s president since 2006, and joined the company in 2005 as its chief operating officer. He has more than 30 years of corporate management experience in both the federal IT and commercial markets.
“The announcement that NJVC has been ‘promoted’ to lead operating company within the newly formed Chenega Corporation ITSS SBU represents another milestone in NJVC history, and I am honored to lead this next step in the company’s evolution,” said Tedesco. “This significant achievement demonstrates Chenega’s belief in NJVC’s sustained strategic growth, and through the support of its parent company, NJVC is better positioned to extend its portfolio of IT offerings to current and prospective customers in new market entry points, improving NJVC’s competitive advantage.”
Andrew Gallegos, the newly-named executive vice president and chief operating officer of the NJVC Technical Services Division, wears the dual hat of the ITSS strategic business unit’s chief operating officer. He will oversee many of the day-to-day operations for both the ITSS strategic business unit companies: NJVC and CDS.
Gallegos is a former chairman of the board and was instrumental to the company’s founding in 2001, according to a company press release. Gallegos was founder, president and CEO of Lentech, Inc., a small, disadvantaged business providing professional services to the information technology industry. Earlier, he spent nine years with the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation family of companies, and prior to that, 20 years at Lockheed Martin.
“I cannot think of a more qualified individual than Andrew Gallegos for the Chenega ITSS SBU and NJVC leadership roles for a variety of key reasons,” said Tedesco. “Andrew knows NJVC, has been a supporter of the company since day one and has — and always had — the best interests of the company at heart. I am beyond confident that he will successfully lead the company’s entry into new markets, and will immediately and positively improve operations to the benefit of our employees, customers and partners.”
