    This week, we took an inside look into the impact of the government shutdown on the government contracting community. We spoke with Richard Bodson, President of SUBSYSTEMs Technologies, Inc., Tony Crescenzo, CEO of IntelliDyne, LLC, and Kerri Morehart, Vice President of Human Resources at Pragmatics, Inc.     We featured Robin Lineberger, former CEO of Deloitte Federal Government Services and current Senior Advisor to the firm’s aerospace and defense customers. He discussed the Professional Services Council’s recent report and market trends for 2014. Read our interview with Lineberger here.

    This week we saw CACI International sign a definitive agreement to acquire Six3 Systems Inc. The firm has 1,600 employees and a worldwide revenue of $470 million for the 2013 calendar year. We also saw SAIC celebrate the first week of its successful spin-off from Leidos Holdings, Inc.

    October 25th, the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia will hold its Sweet Home Virginia Gala. More than 600 business, philanthropic and community leaders will attend the black-tie event. We spoke with foundation President Eileen Ellsworth about the gala and the foundation’s mission. Click here to read our interview with Ellsworth.
