Vangent is ranked 31st on this year’s list of the Top 100 Healthcare Informatics Companies by Healthcare Informatics magazine. Vangent is a leading global provider of information management and strategic business process solutions.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as a leader in the healthcare informatics field,” said Mac Curtis, President and CEO of Vangent. “This honor is a testament to Vangent’s hard work and deep health expertise. It is a fitting tribute to our experience in designing, building and maintaining systems that enhance clinical care and reduce costs.”
Vangent has played an important role in creating the next generation of informatics standards for the Nationwide Health Information Network by facilitating data exchanges across the various information technology departments. It has led the Federal Health Architecture Program Management Office for the Depart of Health and Human Services: The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC).
Vangent has also designed the Health Information Exchange Open Source (HIEOS), which is an open source implementation of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) integration profiles. This platform secures health information exchanges between the disparate health communities by enabling care providers to have longitudinal perspectives of patients’ health records. Vangent’s HIEOS was selected by the ONC as its default XDS.b registry (record locator services) and repository (record storage services) implementation in the CONNECT Gateway.
The magazine Healthcare Informatics is a CIO-level publication that aims to target decision-makers in every type of healthcare organization. Its annual ranking is the only list of its kind in the healthcare IT field.
