TWD & Associates, Inc. (TWD) has today been awarded a contract by the American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) for audio/visual support. The contract will deliver unified communications (UC) to ACT-IAC’s new Collaboration and Education Center.
Under the terms of the agreement, TWD will deliver support for 16 video and 64 audio-only connections, software for webcasting and remote participation and the ability to record events.
“Video is an invaluable educational tool that is playing an increasingly important role in the way large organizations communicate,” said Larry Besterman, president and CEO of TWD. “TWD is proud to provide the center with the UC capabilities needed to support its mission.”
ACT-IAC will be using the Vidyo Unified Communications System, an innovative UC product used by organizations such as Google, Yahoo and the Department of Defense (DoD). With Vidyo, ACT-IAC will be able to conduct virtual symposiums and effortlessly hold web meetings regardless of participant, moderator or attendee location. Users will be able to access content in real-time through desktops, tablets and smartphones.

A major component of this contract will include the ability to record meetings and education sessions. The solution has the capacity to host five simultaneous high definition (HD) recordings and 2,500 hours of content. Supported activities include:

- Conference calls
- Training
- Panel and spotlight discussions
- Webcasting
- Virtual meetings
- Brainstorming sessions
- Telework and off-site functions
