STEMconnector®, the leading publication in “making things happen” in STEM education and careers will release the official list of 100 CEO Leaders in STEM on June 18 at the 2013 Solutions Summit, presented by U.S. News & World Report in Austin, TX.

From launch in 2011, STEMconnector® has been the leader in leveraging a network of STEM stakeholders and in “making things happen.” STEMconnector®’s primary focus is to “identify, inform and connect entities working in STEM Education/Careers to assess smart STEM investments and results.”

The selection process of 100 CEO Leaders in STEM included mapping over 300 CEOs and thorough research to collect material in three aspects: 1) CEO’s background and career; 2) Company’s STEM position within the industry and 3) Company’s specific items and lines of action around STEM. All CEOs had to agree to be profiled and provide insightful interviews about the issue. The 100 CEO Leaders in STEM Sponsors include KPMG, Cisco, Raytheon, Dow Chemical, PTC, TATA Consultancy Services and University of Phoenix. The publication partners are US News, Business-Higher Education Forum, The Manufacturing Institute and Fortune Magazine. Profiles of CEO’s reveal their views on the future of national competitiveness and the need for STEM in the workforce.

STEMconnector CEO Edie Frasier believes that the 100 CEO Leaders in STEM embody thinking of the highest level, stating “It is all about CEO commitment.” CEO’s will center their discussions on technology; innovation; skills to careers; public-private partnerships; diversity of women in the workplace; global competitiveness; scalability and best practice.

The unveiling of the 236 page publication at the 2013 Solutions Summit will have the participation of five of the CEOs. The publication will be available after June 18 online and in print through STEMconnector®’s online store. For a full list of honorees go to blog.stemconnector.org.

STEMconnector® will distribute copies to all the 100 companies and to all its members as well as electronic versions. Fortune Magazine’s Global issue will also be featuring an advertorial section with the complete listing of the 100 CEO Leaders in STEM, released July 23rd. Looking to the fall a National Town Hall Conference Call will be held Sept. 25 (2:00-3:30PM ET) including twelve of the CEOs as speakers.

To colleague Lorena Fimbres, Frasier offers a salute for her enormous vision and effort as “a team that knew the importance of this publication and its potential impact.”

“We urge all readers to review and discuss what you learn understanding the collective action we must all take to ensure America’s youth and workforce are equipped with the STEM skills needed to compete in the market economy.”

WashingtonExec will be covering the 2013 Solutions Summit conference next week.
