The Siemens Foundation recently opened its annual Competition in Math, Science & Technology, with this year’s program offering scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. Administered by the College Board, the competition calls on high school students nationwide to submit original research in technology, science, or math, either as individuals or in teams.

“We hope that by participating in the Siemens Competition, students will embark on a lifelong journey in science, technology, engineering and math,” said Jeniffer Harper-Taylor, president of the Siemens Foundation. “This is an opportunity for passionate high school students to showcase their STEM research to a national audience.”

Regional competitions will be held at six universities in November, with finalists competing in Washington, D.C., in December. Students can compete as individuals or as members of a team. The application period lasts until September 30, 2013.
