Accenture Federal Services and Vius LLC have recently been approved by the Department of Homeland Security to participate in the DHS Mentor/Protege Program. The program provides ways to identify and respond to the needs of veteran-owned businesses and as well as encourage private sector relationships.
Both Accenture and Vius will provide technical and management assistance, financial assistance in terms of equity investments and/or loans, subcontract support and assistance in performing prime contracts. The companies will work through join-venture arrangements with veteran-owned firms.
“Veterans bring a unique perspective to the work of protecting our country’s citizens, both here and abroad,” said Rocky Thurston, who leads Accenture’s work at DHS. “We look forward to learning from Vius while sharing our experience and understanding of the federal marketplace.”
Accenture and Vius will work on a multi-year development plan that includes marketing, prime contract management and program execution.
“This is an exciting opportunity to develop a strong relationship between the companies that will result in great service to customers. We are looking forward to growing our relationship with Accenture and providing continued superior service to our clients,” said Patrick Kernan, Vius Managing Member.
