Accenture Federal Services appointed Ron Ash as CEO and chair of its board of managers, effective Sept. 1.
He will succeed John Goodman, who will step down as CEO and chair of the board of managers on Aug. 31 and retire March 31.
“Ron Ash is the right leader for Accenture Federal Services in this time of reinvention with data, technology and AI,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture. “I wholeheartedly support the Accenture Federal Board’s decision to select Ron as the next CEO. He brings both broad and deep experience across the government and commercial worlds, technology, and strategy, and a strong, proven commitment to creating value for clients, people and communities. I look forward to working with Ron in his new role and bringing the best of Accenture to help the US federal government.”
Ash has served as Accenture Federal Services chief operating officer since 2022, using the latest technologies and innovation to help clients solve complex challenges. He began his career at Accenture in 1996, focused on supply chain transformation in global industries.
In 2002, Ash joined Accenture Federal Services, where along with COO he served as public safety portfolio lead, strategy & consulting growth platform lead, and diamond client account lead for several clients. He is also an executive sponsor of the Hispanic American Employee Resource Group.
As CEO, Ash will advance the company’s ability to help the federal government embrace new technologies to create greater value and reinvent how it delivers its missions in the U.S. and around the world, the company said.
“I’m deeply honored to serve as the next CEO of Accenture Federal Services,” Ash said. “Our people are the heart of everything we do, and I’m thrilled to lead such an exceptional team. I look forward to shaping the future of the federal government together and making a lasting impact on the missions we serve.”
Goodman served as CEO since 2017, doubling the company’s size and workforce.
“Over his incredible career, John has contributed enormously to the growth and success of Accenture Federal Services,” Sweet said. “His leadership and commitment set new standards for how to serve clients, grow the business, embrace new technologies and ways of working, and bring everyone along on the journey. We wish him all the best in his next exciting chapter.”
Under Goodman’s leadership, Accenture Federal Services increased investment in emerging technologies, advanced R&D and human-centric design. The company also acquired Novetta and Cognosante. Goodman expanded the company’s talent development, culture, inclusion and diversity, and workforce development programs.
“I’m incredibly grateful to our people at Accenture Federal Services for everything they have done for our clients, our company, and each other,” Goodman said. “I am confident that Ron will keep our company at the forefront of change and continue to meet the US federal government’s most important needs.”
