The finalists for WashingtonExec’s 2023 Pinnacle Awards were announced Sept. 25, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person Nov. 16.
Next is Rebecca Hannahs, vice president of HR at Siemens Government Technologies, who’s an HR Executive of the Year, Private & Public Companies with annual revenue greater than $250M finalist. Here, she shares about her focus areas and proud moments.
What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the future of the nation?
The pandemic transformed so many things, and redefined the employer and employee relationship in many ways that would have been hard to envision just a few years ago. We’ve embraced this opportunity to highlight the hybrid and remote nature of our teams at SGT, where I believe we have a significant competitive advantage in recruiting nontraditional job candidates for critical roles on our team.
My team’s focus has been on building the supportive culture across our business, allowing employees from all backgrounds and work environments to see themselves grow and thrive in our mission at SGT supporting our government customers.
What are you most proud of?
I’m incredibly proud of my team and their role in supporting our business. We take great pride in all aspects of our employees’ experience, from their very first experiences in recruitment and onboarding, to helping them navigate changes in our business through a lens of opportunity and growth. My nomination for a Pinnacle Award is truly a reflection on them!
