The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Chief Officer Awards were announced March 17, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person May 10.
Next is Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Private & Public Company finalist Mark McNeely, chief administrative officer at BlueHalo. Here, he shares stories of successes, focus areas and proud career moments.
“I am a prime example of BlueHalo’s commitment to its people.
“I started at BlueHalo three years ago as Senior Vice President for Contracts and Procurement. Since that time, the scope of our proposal, contracting, and risk management activities has steadily grown.
“In response to the growing demands and responsibilities of this role, I was promoted to Chief Administrative Officer earlier this year. I am humbled by the trust placed in me by our executive leadership team and thankful for my team of skilled and dedicated contracting and procurement professionals.
“My promotion was one of four major senior-level transitions early this year, following 114 promotions from within in 2022. At every level, BlueHalo is focused on recruiting and retaining the best and brightest in the industry. I am proud to be a part of HaloNation and proud to help facilitate innovative solutions for our Nation.
“I am especially proud of the team I have built over the past three years. We have integrated 11 companies over that short time period and not only migrated to standard policies and procedures but brought our team culture together. Our business partnership with BlueHalo Operations and Growth is a key success factor for BlueHalo.
“BlueHalo is expanding into international markets in 2023, which has already kept me and my team quite busy as we coordinate export control and compliance activities with our legal team. Our team has rapidly stood up policies and compliance infrastructure to ensure we are ready to go to market in many new countries. We are matching the pace of our Growth team and are responding in near real-time as opportunities come in.
