AMERICAN SYSTEMS to Support Mass Notifications for Capitol Personnel

AMERICAN SYSTEMS will be providing sustainment configuration and integration services in support of the Joint Emergency Mass Notification System for the legislative branch organizations in the U.S. Capitol complex.

The contract is awarded by the Senate Office of the Sergeant at Arms, and includes up to 6 years of work. AMERICAN SYSTEMS will use Blackberry AtHoc IWS Alerts client software and provide a fully staffed full time help desk and integration services in support of the JEMNS.

“We are honored to have been selected by the Senate Sergeant of Arms office to augment their readiness communications channels with this proven solution,” said AMERICAN SYSTEMS President and CEO Peter Smith. “Recent events have underscored the need for a secure, real-time emergency notification system in and around the seat of democracy — we know what’s at stake.”

The JEMNS delivers reliable and secure emergency threat notifications to the Library of Congress, House of Representatives Sergeant at Arms, House of Representatives Chief Administrative Officer, Senate Sergeant at Arms, Architect of the Capitol and U.S. Capitol Police. It also provides situational awareness for key Capitol personnel.

The company successfully deployed a similar solution in the development and deployment of the enterprisewide U.S. Air Force Emergency Mass Notification System launched in 2018. It is currently maintained by AMERICAN SYSTEMS.
