QinetiQ Group has appointed Shawn Purvis as president and CEO of QinetiQ U.S., effective Feb. 16.
Purvis is currently corporate vice president at Northrop Grumman Corp., where she leads the enterprise services sector and is responsible for global cybersecurity, operations and next-generation digitization. In her new role, she will be tasked with full operations of the QinetiQ U.S. business.
“I am incredibly honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to lead the talented and dedicated people who make up our QinetiQ US business, as we continue to deliver mission critical sensing and robotic capabilities for the US warfighter,” Purvis commented in a QinetiQ press release.
“With an ambition to build a disruptive mid-tier company in the US through both organic growth and strategy-led acquisitions, I am focused on driving both strong operational performance and executing on our growth strategy for the medium and long-term,” she added.
Purvis brings more than 25 years of profit-and-loss responsibilities, to include leading a billion-dollar organization in defense, intelligence and cybersecurity technical solutions. She also achieved organic revenue growth and margin improvement year over year, and led the functional integration of a multibillion-dollar acquisition.
She also held positions in strategic, financial, engineering, operations and customer-focused leadership within Lockheed Martin, Science Applications International Corp. and Northrop Grumman.

Purvis will join QinetiQ’s global leadership team led by Wadey and will join the QinetiQ Inc. board.
