IBM has named Steve LaFleche general manager for the U.S. public and federal market to further the digital transformation of IBM clients in key industries including the federal, state and local governments.
IBM’s U.S. public and federal market comprises government and education, defense and intelligence, and health care and life sciences industries.
“The modernization and move to hybrid cloud and the adoption of AI will be the challenges — and the opportunities — for government IT leaders in this decade,” LaFleche said.
“IBM has always worked to bring leading-edge technologies to governments at all levels, and I look forward to working with our team to bring innovation that matters to our federal and public sector clients,” he added.
LaFleche, who has worked with IBM for over 33 years, most recently was the company’s managing director for the State of New York, leading the team that helped one of the most affected states by the COVID-19 pandemic. He’s also served as IBM’s vice president of the U.S. public sector for North America.
