Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell has signed several bills which exempts data centers from sales tax, extends the capital gains exemption for those investing in technology startups and extends the state’s telework tax credit.
The legislation signing, heralded in the state’s technology community, was part of a ribbon cutting ceremony at Acentia, LLC’s new headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia, May 29, 2012.
“My administration will continue to work with Acentia and other technology firms to make sure that they are able to grow and succeed here in the Commonwealth,” said Governor McDonnell.
Members of Governor McDonnell’s cabinet attended the ribbon cutting, along with more than 100 attendees.
“Virginia is a great pro-business state with one of the best higher education systems in the country, providing outstanding talent for a growing company like Acentia, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics,” said Acentia CEO, Todd Stottlemyer.
Acentia provides technology and management solutions that help customers meet their mission-critical requirements on programs of national significance.
