Reinventing Geospatial Inc. and the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation have partnered to offer a new scholarship for undergraduates interested in studying the geospatial and engineering disciplines.

The $10,000 RGi Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering will be awarded to an undergraduate who demonstrates financial need, the company said.

“RGi has a long history of supporting student growth and development, and we are thrilled to continue these efforts with USGIF through an annual RGi scholarship,” company CEO Stephen Gillotte said. “We need to continue to build a diverse base of students who are passionate about the future of GEOINT.”

USGIF awards scholarships of various amounts to exceptional students studying the geospatial sciences and related fields every year. USGIF has awarded more than $1.1 million in scholarships since the program began in 2004.

“USGIF and RGi have partnered to recognize and support those students with a geospatial and engineering background who are committed to becoming competitive in this market,” said USGIF Director of Academic Programs Dr. Camelia Kantor.

RGi was recently featured in an American Geographical Society article, earning recognition for its efforts to improve the mobility and delivery of geospatial and web-based technologies, and recently named a new director for business development and strategic growth, a new role that aims to guide the company’s growth with new and existing military C4ISR customers.
