As senior account director for U.S. public sector at Digital Realty, he partners with federal, state and local agencies — and the integrators who serve them — on infrastructure decisions with real stakes and long timelines.
For Taylor, the draw has always been what’s underneath the work. Government infrastructure is the backbone of healthcare systems, defense operations, transportation networks and financial services that people rely on every day. That kind of responsibility shapes how he builds relationships and how he measures success.
In this Q&A, Taylor discusses what keeps him in a space where trust matters more than transactions, how he’s helping agencies tackle hybrid cloud adoption, AI-driven workloads and tightening compliance demands, and why watching his daughters compete in cheer keeps everything in perspective.
What does your career progression look like?
My career has been centered around helping organizations solve complex infrastructure and technology challenges. I started in sales roles supporting enterprise customers, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding how technology aligns with business outcomes. Over time, I gravitated toward larger, more complex environments, which led me into supporting government and public sector clients.
What ultimately brought me into my current role at Digital Realty was the opportunity to work at the intersection of mission critical infrastructure and national scale impact. The Public Sector presents unique challenges that require not only technical understanding, but also the ability to navigate procurement, compliance, and long term strategic planning. That combination aligned well with my experience and interests.
Why did you choose this path?
I chose this path because I was drawn to complexity and purpose. Supporting Public Sector and Government integrator customers is fundamentally different from commercial sales. The decisions have broader implications, timelines can be longer, and the stakes are often higher.
This path has been incredibly influential in shaping my career. It has forced me to become more patient, more strategic, and more focused on building trust. Success in this space is not transactional. It is built over time through credibility, consistency, and delivering real value.
Do you have a personal connection to the mission?
There is definitely a personal connection to the mission. Supporting government agencies means contributing, in some way, to the infrastructure that enables critical services for citizens. Whether it is healthcare, defense, transportation, or financial systems, the work ultimately impacts people’s daily lives.
That sense of purpose adds an additional layer of responsibility and motivation. It is not just about closing deals. It is about helping organizations build resilient, secure environments that they can depend on.
What are your current priorities and responsibilities?
My top priorities are centered around driving strategic growth within the Public Sector while ensuring we are aligned with our customers’ long term objectives. This includes developing account strategies, strengthening executive relationships, and positioning Digital Realty as a trusted partner for digital infrastructure.
These responsibilities directly tie to our company’s broader mission of enabling digital transformation globally. In the Public Sector, that means helping agencies modernize legacy environments, support hybrid and multi cloud architectures, and meet increasingly strict security and compliance requirements.
What growth opportunities do you see?
We see significant growth opportunities in areas such as hybrid cloud adoption, AI driven workloads, and data sovereignty requirements. As agencies continue to modernize, they need infrastructure that is both flexible and secure.
At the same time, customers are facing several challenges. These include navigating budget constraints, managing legacy systems, ensuring compliance, and integrating new technologies without disrupting existing operations. There is also increasing pressure to do more with less while maintaining high levels of security and performance.
How are you and your team preparing for these opportunities?
To address these challenges, our focus is on being proactive and consultative. We are investing time in understanding each customer’s mission, technical environment, and long term goals. From there, we align solutions that are scalable and future ready.
We are also emphasizing collaboration across teams, both internally and with our customers. By bringing together expertise in infrastructure, cloud, and connectivity, we can deliver more comprehensive solutions that address not just immediate needs, but long term strategy.
What role has mentorship and networking played in your career?
Mentorship and networking have been extremely important in my career, especially within the GovCon space. This industry is relationship driven, and learning from experienced leaders can significantly accelerate growth.
I have been fortunate to work with mentors who provided guidance, perspective, and support at key points in my career. That experience has also reinforced the importance of paying it forward by mentoring others and helping them navigate their own paths.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Outside of work, my time is heavily focused on my family. I have two daughters who are very active in competitive cheer, which means a lot of travel, long days, and early mornings. It is a completely different kind of commitment, but one that I genuinely enjoy.
It also provides balance. No matter how complex work gets, it is a reminder of what matters most and helps keep everything in perspective.
