    Erica Banks, Booz Allen

    Erica Banks

    Vice President, Booz Allen

In the wake of recent cyber aggression from the People’s Republic of China, Erica Banks’s team at Booz Allen is working with the federal government to deter efforts of state-sponsored cyber actors to disrupt federal networks.

The team works with 13 federal agencies to prevent and protect against successful intrusions, equipping operators with real-time insight into the security posture and control state of the federal enterprise. This visibility helps agencies identify and remediate vulnerabilities before bad actors can exploit them to conduct espionage, steal data and harm national interests, she said.

According to Kelly Rozumalski, senior vice president of Booz Allen’s national cyber defense business, Banks brings exceptional leadership, precision and strategic foresight to every part of her work — from delivering complex cybersecurity solutions that secure federal networks and infrastructure to managing multistakeholder programs with efficiency and impact.

“Her ability to balance technical depth with program execution has been instrumental in achieving outcomes that exceed expectations,” Rozumalski added.

    Why Watch

In 2025, Banks’s team is staying at the forefront of deploying cybersecurity tools with innovation and efficiency. They’re focused on protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure from damaging ransomware attacks and data breaches. For example, they’re assessing how an AI-enabled solution can discover and remediate security vulnerabilities.

Working closely with federal agencies, Booz Allen procures cybersecurity tools on their behalf. Through technology partnerships, the company has saved the government over $1.3 billion, achieving more than 70% in cost savings and enabling the deployment of critical capabilities across more agencies.

“I’m proud of our team’s work to support a 24/7/365, national-level, no-fail mission to defend national assets and provide cyber resiliency across federal networks,” Banks said. “We are excited to work with every federal agency to revolutionize their operational visibility and drive the implementation of emerging tech solutions to tackle today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s threats.”

Fun Fact: Banks’ first real job was as a telemarketer where she learned how to talk to people around the country and that engineering was more of a skill set.
