    Dan Smith, GDIT

    Dan Smith

Vice President & General Manager of Homeland Security Sector, GDIT

Dan Smith doesn’t frame the idea of “achievement” as an individual accomplishment. Instead, he approaches success from a village mentality.

“The achievement I’m most proud of in 2024 is the way our team has come together here at GDIT,” he said. “We’re building the single best force of passionate technologists and leaders in the industry, and I can’t wait to get up every morning to work with them.”

Learning is another of Smith’s passions.

“I learn so much more from failure than success; to the extent that I now embrace trials because I know they mean growth,” he said. “It’s essential to celebrate success as the result of our experiences and learn to appreciate every step of our journey. Learn and grow, and constantly seek opportunities to use your journey in the service of others.”

    Why Watch

In 2024, Smith’s team is exclusively focused on enhancing mission-level partnerships.

“The government teams we support are operating in the most dynamic environment ever and they need true partnerships with their contractors and support teams,” he said. “The old way of doing things doesn’t move at the speed of mission, and we plan to change that. We’re going to be the most transformative and innovative partner that government has ever seen.”

Fun fact:“My spirit animal is the platypus,” Smith said. “They’re a bit of a hodgepodge, and I can relate to that!”
