Eric Trexler
Senior Vice President of US Public Sector, Palo Alto Networks
Eric Trexler’s biggest recent achievement is pulling together a stellar, highly-effective U.S. public sector team at Palo Alto Networks.
“There are no silver bullets in cybersecurity,” he said. “It’s an endless marathon, where you have to run faster and harder to simply stay in place.”
Why Watch
In 2024, Trexler and his team are heavily focused on platformization, reducing the cybersecurity sprawl and resulting ineffectiveness in the government.
For 2024 and beyond, his team will continue to focus on platformization.
“We have got to reduce the cybersecurity sprawl if we stand any hope of establishing a secure cyber ecosystem in the government,” Trexler said.
This requires a new way of thinking and adopting for the government, but continue to adopt one-off solutions will only continue to compound an ineffective cybersecurity architecture.
Fun fact: Trexler is currently learning to fly. “Some people may be surprised to hear that executives have time for passions outside of their professional focus, but I find that without a way to properly decompress you are begging for burnout,” he said. “Right now I am learning to fly; I’ve completed several lessons and should have my private pilot’s license within the next three months.”
