Shayla Treadwell
Vice President of Governance, Risk & Compliance , ECS
As a federal contractor organization, ECS’ journey into the sustainability space has been uniquely challenging, setting the company apart from commercial peers.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to proactively assess and mitigate environmental, social, and governance risks that could impact our stakeholders, employees, and operational efficiency,” Shayla Treadwell said.
Today, along with ECS’ parent company ASGN, ECS is dedicated to a strategic plan surrounding ESG that supports stakeholders and employees. Treadwell has great pride in the work they are doing and its impact on driving sustainability.
Why Watch
In 2024, Treadwell is emphasizing openness and teamwork at ECS. These principles are central to the company’s commitment to sustainability. By focusing on transparency and collaboration, ECS aims to promote a more sustainable and responsible future and encourages other companies to do the same.
Treadwell is proud to lead with this focus, showing a strong commitment not only within the company but also to the broader well-being of society and the environment. She is dedicated to advancing this cause, motivating others inside and outside of ECS to work toward a more sustainable and fair future.
“Cultivating a sustainable future isn’t just a duty; it reflects our deepest values and convictions,” she said. “True stewardship of our planet and communities begins with embracing social responsibility as an integral part of our identity, guiding our actions toward a cleaner, more inclusive world.”
Fun Fact: Treadwell has always been a staunch advocate for building a clean future. Even as a child, she gave her family impromptu lectures about responsible water use, the importance of reducing disposable materials, embracing inclusivity and practicing ethical behavior. Her mom even stopped buying six-packs of soda because of those talks, showing how much Treadwell’s views, supported by a caring parent, really stuck with her. These beliefs aren’t just part of her work; they’re a big part of who she is. She lives by these principles every day, believing strongly in sustainability and doing the right thing.
