    Steffanie Easter, CAES

    Steffanie Easter

Senior Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer, CAES

2023 was a busy year for Steffanie Easter as she continued to lead and expand upon the ESG efforts at CAES.

She successfully led the establishment of the company’s first set of ESG goals and metrics, including a long-term “stretch” climate goal to reduce GHG emissions, the deployment of the first-ever DEI training across the workforce and the launching of the Women’s “RENEW” ERG.

    Why Watch

Now that Easter and her team have set their goals, they’re working on specific plans to achieve or surpass these goals. They’re also keeping the workforce involved and informed. Easter wants to build on the success of the two “Green Teams” formed this year, highlighting their quick achievements. She plans to collaborate with CAES’ communications team and site leaders to share their progress and successes, aiming to engage more of the workforce.

“There is a quote from Kurt Hahn that I love: ‘There is more to us than we know if we could be made to see it; perhaps, for the rest of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for less,'” she said. “We are capable of accomplishing more than we can imagine. Whether it is completing your first-ever hiking trip or establishing an ESG program for your company…anything is possible if you put your mind to it, work it, and believe in yourself!”

Fun Fact: Last year, Easter completed one of the items on her bucket list, and hiked with her daughter through Waimea Canyon and Koke’e State Park in Kauai, Hawaii. There were times when she wasn’t sure she would make it, but she did. “It was an amazing experience and the scenery was breathtaking!” she said.
