Jon Rucker, Ultra Intelligence & Communications

    Jon Rucker

President & CEO, Ultra Intelligence & Communications

In late 2022, Jon Rucker was charged with leading the next evolution of a highly respected multi-national defense company with numerous heritage products underpinning some of the industry’s most consequential technologies.

By reorganizing the growth engine, and operating as a broader, matrixed team, the team at Ultra Intelligence & Communications is generating new ideas hyper-focused on emerging customer needs.

Rucker’s responsible for a cultural transformation that brings together existing engineering excellence with a customer-focused, tech-centric spirit of innovation that will ensure the company is ushering in the next generation of defense solutions.

Rucker often says in team discussions that, “We win as a team, and we lose as a team.”

“When you win, credit is shared among all contributors. If and when you get to a place where you’re unsuccessful, let it be said that you leveraged all available expertise and tried every good idea,” he said. “Participation of all team members is expected ⏤ diverse ideas and perspectives enhance the team’s collective strength.”

    Why Watch

Ultra Intelligence & Communications provides significant technology for numerous well-known, large defense systems; the challenge is that most do not know they’re looking at an Ultra I&C-powered capability. Rucker is working to give the Ultra I&C brand the recognition it deserves while leveraging the company’s deep roots in innovation and its relentless dedication to deliver flexible and modernized solutions to the warfighter at-speed.

Fun Fact: Rucker currently serves as committee chair for his sons’ scout troop. Being an eagle scout himself, he understands the value and impact of the scouting experience.
