Julie Anna Barker, ManTech

Julie Anna Barker

Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resource Officer, ManTech

Julie Anna Barker was instrumental in leading the workforce through the Carlyle acquisition and transition from a public to a privately held company in 2023.

Working with her team, she has maintained ManTech’s unique company culture, making it a top choice for nearly 10,000 employees. This has helped attract and keep the best talent. In 2023, the company saw more successful hires than in previous years and kept more of its skilled employees than it had in over five years.

“Julie Anna and her team take human capital to a new level,” said Bonnie Cook, executive vice president and chief performance officer at ManTech. “Every day, they support the success of our people, our business and our customers. From creating robust training and certification opportunities and recruiting and retaining our highly talented team at record levels to offering an industry-leading mobility program ⏤ all to serve our customers’ mission needs and success.”

Why to Watch

Barker and ManTech’s human capital team continue to drive a holistic approach to talent by building upon a human capital strategy focused on the entire career journey of ManTech employees. The purpose is to cultivate a thriving workplace through meaning and direction. From the prospective candidate to the retiree, it’s ensuring a fulfilling experience through all career phases that drives the longevity and loyalty of the ManTech workforce.

“It is through people that the health of an organization is truly visible,” Barker said. “Measuring our success in such areas as recruitment, retention, engagement and development become some of the most critical indicators of employee and business success at ManTech.”
