Head of Marketing & Communications, QinetiQ US

Leticia Ballard joined QinetiQ US two months ago and got to work right away. In her second week, the company integrated two old organizations into the new QinetiQ US and planned its first leadership conference. Ballard took charge, guided the process and successfully helped carry out the conference within her first six weeks.

“It was a phenomenal event that allowed our CEO to, for the first time, stand in front of all directors and above from these now combined entities to share her vision, mission, goals, and objectives to the team as well as her expectations from them,” Ballard said.

Ballard and her team also combined the content from two websites, intranet sites, career/jobs pages and social media sites to present a unified QinetiQ US brand ⏤ all within her first two months.

“It’s been a busy, yet very rewarding experience thus far and a very exciting time to be at QinetiQ US,” she said.

Shawn Purvis, president and CEO of QinetiQ US, said since Ballard joined the team to lead MarCom, she “jumped right in and been an integral part of helping us integrate and build structure into our communications organization following the acquisition of a sizable company.”

“Leticia brings deep experience, strategic thinking, and creativity to our team in a way that is already impacting how we will tell the QinetiQ US story more intentionally and dynamically,” Purvis added. “I’m excited to have her on our team, as she brings innovative, imaginative and thoughtful leadership that we need to drive our brand marketing and communications strategy.”

    Why Watch

In 2023, Ballard and her team are heavily focused on elevating the QinetiQ US brand and showing up more intentionally in the markets they serve. They will look to enhance thought leadership to show how QinetiQ US provides mission-led, customer-focused engineering and innovative solutions for next-generation ISR, cyber, mission operations and autonomous systems to deliver a decisive and actionable information advantage.

“It’s going to be important for us to start showcasing how we are providing solutions that have not just been innovative, but game changing,” Ballard said. “QinetiQ US has been around for a while, it’s time for the industry to see what we’ve been up to all these years and how we are fiercely curious about and obsessed with our customers’ missions and how we can impact it to achieve successful and positive outcomes.”
