    Ron Keesing, Leidos

    Ron Keesing

Senior Vice President for Technology Integration, Leidos

Ron Keesing’s biggest recent achievement was launching and building out the AI/ML Accelerator at Leidos. Initially starting with a team of around 12 data scientists on a few projects, it expanded into a group of over 70 top-notch AI researchers. This team now drives all-important AI initiatives in the company and supports projects and proposals worth billions of dollars.

“Ron is a national asset when it comes to applying AI to the most vexing government challenges,” said Leidos Chief Technology Officer James Carlini. “He combines incredible depth in AI with unparalleled passion and leadership, enabling the creation and growth of an industry-leading AI accelerator at Leidos. His team has developed cutting edge AI algorithms, pioneered trusted AI solutions, and deployed LLMs (large language models) into production environments. He is most certainly a Top AI Executive to Watch!”

    Why Watch

In 2023, Keesing’s team is heavily focused on launching and executing the company’s Trusted GenAI campaign, which expands on years of Leidos experience researching and deploying transformers and large language models, the key underlying technologies of generative AI.

“As someone who’s been in the AI business for more than 30 years, I’m energized by the rapid progress in generative AI in solving previously unsolved AI problems,” Keesing said. “But I also understand that harnessing the power of this technology will require building and deploying it in a way that both engenders humans’ trust and is worthy of that trust.”
