    Anthony Vultaggio, SMX

    Anthony Vultaggio

    Chief Technology Officer, SMX

Instrumental to SMX’s launch into the cloud services market in 2009, Anthony Vultaggio brings over 25 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering market-leading technical products and services to the company.

Since pioneering the way into cloud for the government, Vultaggio has been an advocate for innovation, leading the early adoption of many cutting-edge technology solutions into the federal sector, including micro-services, containerization and auto-scaling workloads.

Vultaggio and his team pioneered the first FedRAMP-authorized Managed Services Provider/Managed Security Services Provider capability when the federal market prioritized cloud adoption. This shift allowed clients to focus more on applications and data rather than infrastructure, leading to greater value for their constituents.

“Anthony Vultaggio was an early pioneer in leveraging AI for anomaly and threat detection,” said Robert Groat, SMX executive vice president of strategy and technology. “His team built and integrated advanced entity behavioral models that have helped keep our clients secure from aggressive nation state attacks and malicious bad actors.”

    Why Watch

Vultaggio is building security models that help drive AI into the back office and highly regulated markets. He is leveraging native cloud services and data pipelines to deliver advanced generative AI capabilities in virtual private implementations that customize publicly available large language models. This allows clients to leverage multiple models and tailor it with their specific data sets privately and securely.

“Through working with various clients in highly complex and regulated environments, we’ve seen that data quality, organizational data policy, ethics concerns, and security are the primary challenges clients are experiencing with AI adoption,” Vultaggio said. “Our SMX Elevate approach mitigates these issues by automating data governance and enforcing compliance on private AI implementations built to our clients’ business goals.”

“We can unleash the power of AI to help clients in highly regulated industries more easily achieve their goals. By harnessing AI’s data analytics prowess, accelerating app development, fortifying security, and outsmarting our nation’s adversaries with advanced threat identification, we will make a positive impact to our clients’ global missions.”
