Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, BAE Systems, Inc.
Under Alice Eldridge’s leadership, the legal organization partners with the business to identify risks, proactively offer solutions and creatively solve problems. Truly successful legal teams contribute to the business’ overall success and that’s what Eldridge’s team strives for. She ensures the team has a clear picture of the business and the risks facing it so the legal organization can offer sound, proactive advice — at the speed of business.
Given the complexity of today’s rapidly changing business and regulatory environment, that’s never been more critical.
“The pull for active participation from the legal, international trade, security, ethics and contracts teams has never been stronger, which really does allow us to better support the business,” Eldridge said.
Having overcome many challenges over the last few years, notably the pandemic, Eldridge and her team are refocusing on building relationships with new members of the organization, continuing to grow its financial and business acumen, and ensuring they remain integrated with the business leadership teams. They also continue to streamline and digitize the organization’s processes to ensure it’s operating as efficiently and effectively as possible.
“I am incredibly privileged to lead the legal organization and the many, many talented individuals within it,” she said. “I am particularly proud of how the team partners cohesively and collaborates seamlessly with each other, other functions, and the business to get to a risk-balanced ‘yes.'”
BAE Systems President and CEO Tom Arseneault said of Eldridge, “Her principled leadership helps to center the enterprise and to leverage our best-in-class legal team to ensure we’re measuring up to the high ethical standards our national security mission demands, every day.”
