Caroline LeCount
Vice President, Talent Management, Maxar Technologies
In 2021, Caroline LeCount and her team established Maxar’s first DE&I strategy demonstrating its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, and recognizing its people as its greatest strength.
LeCount and her team have seen great progress over the last 18 months, and she’s most proud of how they have driven more diverse candidates into Maxar’s pipeline and ultimately into its leadership roles.
On this journey, LeCount and her team have seen a shift in their approach and now bring diverse people and perspectives into the process, which is the first step.
Though constant vigilance, education, storytelling and senior leaders’ commitment, the company is seeing broad support and engagement at all levels, said Liz Andora, Maxar chief human resources officer and senior vice president.
“At our most recent industry conferences, Maxar is leading the way in CEO commitment and recognition for diverse talent in the aerospace and defense industry,” she added. “Finally, we have driven for greater transparency of our work both internal with our team members and external with our shareholders. “
Why Watch
This year, LeCount and her team are focused on upskilling team members on global inclusion, hiring and inclusive leadership and providing the competencies, tools and resources to use in a hybrid work environment. They are centered on the learner journey and how each person plays a role in building Maxar’s culture around DE&I.
“We have to maintain a growth mindset when we think about how we will make progress in DEI,” LeCount said. “We must continue to challenge our current thoughts, beliefs and approach, pushing to build our leaders and drive a culture of inclusion, equity and belonging.”
