Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, Booz Allen Hamilton
Before joining Booz Allen as chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, Jon G. Muñoz held roles with Sprint, Nextel Communications, Bank One and NationsBank. Most recently, he was vice president of global diversity at Hilton. Under his leadership, Hilton earned many industry accolades for its innovative DE&I management practices.
Muñoz is a founding advisory board member of the Latino DEI Collective, founding member of the WashingtonExec DE&I Council, immediate past chair of the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association, and serves on the chairman’s advisory council for the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino.
Muñoz joins Booz Allen at an important time in the firm’s over two-decade DE&I journey. The firm recently launched a refreshed DE&I strategy that sets new goals to lead by example, empower potential, inspire belonging and use its voice to advance equity and resilience in support of its corporate purpose to empower people to change the world.
The next step: a firmwide approach that broadens Booz Allen’s commitment to DE&I. Through a robust action plan, the firm is committed to reducing bias and improving equity in policies, initiatives and processes; increase transparency, leadership accountability, sponsorship and development of underrepresented talent; enhance employee engagement for all; and build a journey for learning and understanding.
“We have a shared responsibility to ourselves and each other to foster an inclusive and equitable culture that allows us to celebrate our differences and creates a sense of belonging so that all people can achieve their full potential,” Muñoz said.
