First wave of successes prompts acceleration in digital innovations for serving citizens.
In recognition of the early successes of the State of Maryland’s MD THINK program, Governor Larry Hogan issued a revised executive order intended to accelerate coordination with state agencies and strengthen MD THINK operations. The order establishes the MD THINK Enterprise, which encompasses the State’s collective resources assigned to MD THINK including the Strategic Initiatives Office.
Subramanian Muniasamy, DHS CTO, has been appointed as MD THINK Executive Director and will manage the multi-agency resources to achieve the goals and objectives as set forth by the MDTHINK Committee.
Director of External Affairs and MD THINK Committee Chair, Christopher Shank, is focused to carry out the State’s commitment to utilizing the latest technology to improve access to government services. Additional efforts will support the State’s 2Gen approach to alleviate multi-generational poverty, minimize the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and support re-entry for Marylanders leaving the custody of public safety and correctional services.
MDTHINK launched in 2017 as the first-in-the-nation cloud-based platform, revolutionizing the way Marylanders receive Health & Human Services. Agencies gain a holistic view of citizens receiving benefits and analyze data across agencies to design better assistance programs.
