    David Tender

    Chief Security Officer, ASRC Federal

Since joining as chief security officer last June, David Tender has continued to elevate ASRC Federal’s security posture. His team has further strengthened ASRC Federal’s security processes and leveraged tools to ensure compliance, stability and readiness for growth.

Tender’s 26 years in security — including service in the Air Force — have made him acutely aware of the continuous threats posed to organizations that work with federal and defense customers. He aligned security protocols to industry regulatory changes and protected ASRC Federal stakeholders through COVID-19 challenges using a comprehensive approach to threat detection.

“I tell my team that we have to be better and do better tomorrow than we did yesterday,” said Tender, reflecting on his ethos of continuous improvement and dedication to the mission. He views his team as integral to the business in supporting proposals, managing the clearance process, overseeing contract compliance and planning for the unexpected.

In 2021, Tender’s team finalized a corporate business contingency management plan — formulating plans of action for crisis situations and preparing the company to continue its operations during an emergency.

    Why Watch

Tender continues to build the capabilities of his team, provide thought leadership and engage in industry groups. He was appointed to the National Security Program Policy Advisory Committee, serves as vice chairman for the Industrial Security Working Group and is a founding member of the WashingtonExec CSO Council. He remains focused on securing ASRC Federal’s infrastructure and enhancing its internal inspection protocols to address emerging and persistent threats.
