Tim Solms
General Manager, Public Sector, Dun & Bradstreet
As Dun & Bradstreet’s general manager of public sector, Tim Solms’ business continues to manage a rapidly evolving environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the past year, this team of data scientists and analysts, with the support of the firm, engaged across the international, federal, state and local entities to lend their skills and analytical capabilities to help solve the critical and time sensitive issues directly related to COVID-19.
“As one of the founding companies of the American Enterprise, Dun & Bradstreet sees it as our obligation and responsibility to support our country’s mission, providing data and analytic insights to programs that will have the most impactful effect on our nation and our people,” Solms said.
Specific to the U.S., Dun & Bradstreet’s public sector team joined forces with several federal, local and state agencies to provide the essential data and insights needed to inform the development and distribution of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act funding, and the process for economic recovery.
Why Watch
Dun & Bradstreet’s public sector team is focused on mission-specific innovation. For example, while Dun & Bradstreet is known for its D-U-N-S Number, it’s the global data and insights derived from the D-U-N-S Number that allows it to create custom analytics to detect fraud, validate government contractors across its supply chains, and much more.
In January, the company published an open letter and has since found increased alignment across agencies as they work together to support the small business community and prevent waste, fraud and abuse.
“We are driven by our growing and diverse top talent, and the different experiences that we can bring to the table to offer the best thinking, ideas and strategies to help advance our nation’s agenda,” Solms said.
In the months ahead, the public sector team will continue the work on pandemic analysis directly coupled with economic recovery, down to the local level. The team’s work with the federal government on ESG visibility continues to increase, and it expects greater collaboration throughout 2022.
