When Steve Nguyen joined Citrix, his goal was to provide government end users with the most efficient way to access their desktops and applications and allow them to securely work from anywhere while boosting their productivity. Several years ago, this was a radical idea for some federal and state agencies. Yet many were finally embracing the cloud and strategizing their move to the cloud. And Citrix was ready to help them do it.
Known for providing a platform to securely enabling remote work, Citrix developed additional capabilities to securely meet the demands of government customers. Advocated by Nguyen, Citrix is now FedRAMP Ready and is marching toward providing government customers with the highest security requirements to meet their unique needs.
When COVID hit in early 2020 and government mandates forced agencies to shutter offices and send employees home, Citrix’s Public Sector team quickly acted to provide a secure workspace environment through which they could access all of the applications and information they would need to continue providing critical services.
“Working countless hours and weekends, we were able to give customers the ability to safely and securely work from home, like they were still in the office,” Nguyen said.
Within a matter of days, Citrix delivered workspaces to hundreds of thousands of government users.
“Our customers went home and used Citrix like nothing happened,” Nguyen said. “Many added users in the tens of thousands and they were all up and running over the weekend. We were humbled to be able to be a part of helping them manage the crisis and maintain continuity across their operations.”

Today, with over 1 million government users securely using the Citrix Workspace at the office or remotely, Nguyen is driven to move them to the cloud. In 2022, with Citrix FedRAMP solutions, Nguyen says he is dedicated to helping as many government users move to the cloud to fulfill the government cloud Initiatives, and provide the government with the flexibility and security to work from anywhere.
“Steve’s drive and dedication to the success of the government, like the many government cloud initiatives, can be seen through his leadership internally for specific government requirements like FedRAMP,” said Citrix CEO David Henshall.
