Federally funded R&D enterprise MITRE has named Wen Masters vice president for cyber technologies to lead corporate cybersecurity strategy.
Masters will be developing a wide range of cyber capabilities and solutions, including programs that address key economic and national security challenges such as securing critical infrastructure against foreign exploitation and protecting U.S. intellectual property from cyber theft by foreign adversaries.
Charles Clancy, senior vice president, general manager of MITRE Labs and chief futurist, said Masters’ “demonstrated knowledge, abilities, and breadth of experience in government and academia” make her a great fit to lead the organization’s cyber work and drive research and innovation.
Masters was most recently deputy director for research at Georgia Tech Research Institute, director of the Information and Cyber Sciences Directorate at GTRI, and a principal research scientist at Georgia Tech.
She previously worked for the U.S. government for 23 years, including serving over a decade in the Senior Executive Service at the Office of Naval Research.
