    Faith Magné, Amentum

    Faith Magné

Senior Vice President of Contracts and Procurement, Amentum

In 2020, Faith Magné had to significantly shift focus from the objectives she had identified in 2019 because of COVID-19, as well as other events like the launch of Amentum as an independent company and the acquisition of DynCorp.

“With all these changes, the contracts team worked to manage additional requirements as well as providing guidance to our internal team, while maintaining compliance with the CARES Act,” she said.

And amid a paradigm shift, Amentum adapted quickly to telework, managing WebEx, Zoom and Teams calls with little slowdown to its internal and external customers’ demands.

“I am most proud that as a leader at Amentum, I was able to provide leadership to my team during this constant period of uncertainty and change,” Magné said. She kept everyone focused on the mission, continuing to work on innovation, and emphasizing a “safety first culture.”

When Magné was promoted to SVP of contracts and procurement in January, she was fortunate to have great leadership support, but she also faced additional challenges because of COVID-19. She was able to advance mission goals based on the dynamic C&P team at Amentum.

During this past year, her team focused on enhanced communications and cohesion with business partners, contracts, subcontracts and purchasing, thus enabling cross-use of personnel and the implementation of best practices based on knowledge sharing.

COVID-19 resulted in a greater demand for capitalization regarding time management, resulting in the development of an innovation site for collecting and prioritizing ideas that would result in efficiencies. Tiger teams were formed and several initiatives resulted in demonstrated improvements directly impacting strategic growth.

    Why Watch

“The Amentum C&P team is progressive and agile during times of change and transition,” Magné said.

With the purchase of DynCorp, there will be opportunities for the implementation of best practices that ultimately will foster new opportunities and expand innovations within contracts. Magné looks forward to working with the collective team to engage in future business opportunities.

“My focus is to continue to stay engaged with ever-changing regulations while mitigating risk and adding value during both the proposal and execution stage,” she said. “We will continue to stay focused on our customers objectives while supporting the ultimate mission.”
