Aerospace, defense and government-focused investment firm Enlightenment Capital has announced the addition of former industry CEO Kevin Kelly to its advisory board to support portfolio company management teams and expand national security businesses.
Kelly has more than 25 years of GovCon experience developing and innovating technology companies in the defense and intelligence space. He most recently served as president of CACI International’s National Security and Innovative Solutions sector, joining the company after its acquisition of LGS Innovations, where he was CEO. Kelly has also held senior positions within General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin.
Devin Talbott, founder and managing partner of Enlightenment Capital, said the firm is thrilled to have Kelly join its board, as its management teams will benefit from his expertise into how to expand their companies.
“He is a valuable addition to our team and will amplify our efforts to invest in and support leading middle market ADG businesses,” Talbott added.
And as the government contracting industry evolves, Kelly said it requires new solutions to emerging threats, and the companies to thrive will be the ones continuing to innovate.
“Enlightenment’s focus on ambitious businesses bringing creative solutions to national security challenges aligns well with my background and interests in fostering innovation in the sector,” he added.
Kelly is joined on the advisory board by Bob Work, former deputy defense secretary; Gen. James “Hoss” Cartwright, former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; and Matt Olsen, former head of the National Counterterrorism Center.
