    Oliver Nutt, GDIT

Oliver Nutt was promoted to vice president of marketing and external communications for General Dynamics Information Technology shortly after General Dynamics acquired CSRA Inc. for $9.7 billion, the largest acquisition in the company’s history.

In 2019, he oversaw GDIT’s award-winning rebrand strategy, which repositioned the “new” GDIT following the merger and several divestures. The rebrand was an important moment in the company’s transformation and was recognized with the Distinction Award in the 2020 REBRAND 100 global awards.

Following the rebrand, Nutt and his new team partnered closely with the lines of business on deal-based marketing and the introduction of commercial sector best practices. The team also implemented a new digital strategy this year, launching a digital thought leadership program, podcast series, webinar program and virtual trade show experience.

For Nutt, it’s all about having the right team and culture.

“It’s an exciting time to be at GDIT,” he said. “I am surrounded by very talented, energetic people, and we’re constantly learning from each other. This dynamic has enabled us to respond quickly to the changing needs of the business and to new challenges like COVID-19.”

    Why Watch

Since the pandemic, the way people engage with companies, brands and consume content has changed, and as a result, the business requires different types of marketing services. Nutt and his team is heavily focused on accelerating GDIT’s digital marketing initiatives and telling a stronger narrative around the culture at GDIT and the innovations the company is delivering.
