Speedcast Government has appointed David Myers as incoming president and CEO, succeeding Moe Abutaleb, who has served as CEO since 2003.
To ensure a smooth transition, Myers will be step into the president role Aug. 24 and is expected to take over as CEO in early 2021 when Abutaleb retires.
Myers has a track record of driving growth in both public and private companies. He currently serves as president of Peraton’s communications sector, which focuses on advanced networks for defense, intelligence and civil customers.
Prior to Peraton, Myers was president and CEO of Datapath, a provider of satellite ground systems and field services. He has held numerous executive roles at ITC Global, Harris CapRock and Spacenet. Myers also served as chairman and president of the Space & Satellite Professionals International industry association.
