Management consulting and digital transformation company CALIBRE Systems, Inc. announced it will be working with Volvo Car USA to hire and train military veterans.

CALIBRE will facilitate hiring and training of veterans and currently-serving members of the National Guard and Reserve to fill quality-level technician and hybrid specialist positions across Volvo Car USA’s national retail network. The program aims to enable Volvo retailers to connect with a proven source of technical skills and experience.

Veterans participating in this program will complete a 4-week training program at a Volvo Training and Development Center in one of several locations throughout the U.S. Facilitated by CALIBRE, the program combines eLearning with the four-week resident training, followed by on-the-job training at a participating Volvo retailer through a year-long apprenticeship program.

Those who are eligible to receive GI Bill benefits will also have the opportunity to receive a monthly stipend.

The new initiative exemplifies how industry can apply the skills and expertise of U.S. veterans to deliver a world-class customer experience to their customers, said CALIBRE’s President and CEO Richard Pineda.

“As a values-based company with an enduring commitment to employing Veterans ourselves, CALIBRE is honored to partner with Volvo on this patriotic initiative, which will help hundreds of former military technicians cross the great divide to a successful private sector career for each of the next five years,” he added
